Organisers of Friday’s planned national shutdown have renewed their appeal to African National Congress (ANC) leaders to join their action aimed at persuading President Jacob Zuma to step down.This comes despite the ANC’s rallying behind Zuma on Tuesday after an National Working Committee meeting.Organisers from a number of NGOs have told the media in Pretoria that the protest will go ahead on Friday.The action includes a march at midday to the Union Buildings in Pretoria.  Leaders from civil society, religious bodies and even ANC stalwarts have called on Zuma to quit, following the economic fallout linked to the dismissal of Pravin Gordhan as Finance Minister.Save SA’s Mark Heywood says, “If you want to prevent this country from becoming a failed state, a fragmented… Next »
