The U.S. Supreme Court on early Tuesday halted the first in a mini-marathon of Arkansas executions planned for before the state’s sedative supply expires. The highest court in the land declined to lift the Arkansas Supreme Court’s stay of execution for inmate Don Davis, whose death warrant expired at midnight. It would have been the Heart of Dixie’s first execution since 2005.
